is set-up jointly by Govt. of India and textile industry in 1974 on a 50 acre land at Ghaziabad near national capital New Delhi. It is registered under Societies Registration Act, 1860 (Xxl of 1860). NITRA is the only ISO 9001:2008 accredited premier textile research association in the country. NITRA is recognized by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Govt. of India.

Further, NITRA is a Centre of Excellence, duly recognized by Central Govt and State Govt. of U.P., to conduct research and training activities for the complete textile supply chain.

NITRA Technical Campus (NTC) is the academic arm of NITRA set up exclusively to offer AICTE approved B. Tech Engineering programs. The institute spreads over a huge area of 1,68,000 sq ft having buildings with latest infrastructural facilities and hostel blocks.
