» Awareness Program on Vittiya Saksharata Abhiyan at NITRA Technical Campus
Ministry of Human Resource Development has launched VITTIYA SAKSHARATA ABHIYAN (VISAKA) – a campaign for promoting a digital and cashless economy through e-wallet, e-payment, net banking etc. The govt.'s purpose behind the cashless economy is to bring maximum financial transaction done through the credit card, debit card, net-banking and the other sources of electronic payments under the single currency system which is virtual or digitized. The Govt. of India sees many advantages for introducing cashless digital economy in the country. In cashless economy the transaction costs come down substantially. Once a substantial part of transactions are cashless, it would bring down the cost of printing, managing and moving money around. Further, the cashless economy automatically solves the problems of bulk cash out on long holidays, eliminates risk of carrying currency notes etc. Further, the lesser use of cash strangulates the grey economy or black money, prevents money laundering, eliminates counterfeit or fake notes that is circulating, dries down the sources for terrorist funding, decreases corruption and most importantly increases tax compliance and collection . Increased tax base would result in greater revenue for state and greater amount available to fund the welfare programs. To make the above advantages widespread, NITRA Technical Campus organized an awareness cum sensitization program on VITTIYA SAKSHARATA ABHIYAN for local traders and retailers.

» An exclusive on site awards cum training program in order to facilitates those traders and retailers is organized so that they can implement the cashless system in their daily and regular transactions.
